The United Nations' (UN) International Day of Older Persons is celebrated annually on October 1 to recognize the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives.
As International Day of Older Persons is a special day for older persons or senior citizens all over the world the project Seniors On-line will celebrate it together.
Final international conference with cross-cultural ‘Get-together’ event for senior associations and organizations, adult education institutions, local authorities, language and IT teaching institutions, to present the project, its products and results to the beneficiaries will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Finish exploitation event, part of "Seniors On-line" project, is to take place on 31st May at the Raisio Library, Raisio. The venue has been selected as the project's “English and ICT integrated course for seniors” was organised there. Anmiro Oy is very grateful for the opportunity to deliver courses and present the exploitation event in this modern learning environment. The event will include an introduction to the E-book “English and the ICT Skills for Life” with a questions and answers session on the E-book, as well as courses delivered by the project partner. The event is to be advertised in the local Raisio Newsletter, the official news sheet published by the City of Raisio.
The Seniors On-line exploitation seminar in Tallinn will take place on May 18th, 2017. The seminar will introduce the eBook created by the Seniors On-line project partners from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland. The exploitation seminar will take place in the Estonian National Library computer class. The class has 15 computers which will enable participants simultaneously, under the teacher’s guidance, browse the eBook online. The aim of the seminar is twofold – first of all, to present the eBook, but also enable seniors practise the ICT skills they gained during their training course.
On May 16th, SIH together with the associated partner Metardas Čobutas Third Age University will organize an exploitation seminar, during which one of the main project outputs - an eBook “English and the ICT Skills for Life” as well as other the project’s achievements will be presented. Besides, input of the senior learners for the upcoming final international conference, which will be held in Vilnius at the end of June, will be disscussed.

In May local exploitation seminars for the senior communities and associations, language and IT teaching professionals in all partner countries will be held. During the seminars the project participants will present their achievements and share experiences of participating in the project activities. As one of the main outputs final product of the project – an e-book will be presened as well.
In February 2017, the project partners will meet in Tallinn to discuss the progress of the trainings in partner countries and to hold an international workshop for the project participants – senior learners from all partner countries.
In September the project partners start implementing the integrated learning programme – courses for seniors covering face-to-face lessons and online communication with teachers, making short videos on a chosen topic, as well as international online and face-to-face communication with peers form other partner countries.
In May 2016 the project partners met in Riga to review the progress of the project and to discuss the development of the integrated learning programme.
